You are Special to God

You are Special to God

The sword of the Spirit, so sharp, so accurate, it can cut the marrow from the bone, and separate truth from lies, show sin although it looks so good.

But this sword is not for us to wheel against each other, cutting up hearts around us. It is for our own hearts, cutting away the lies, showing us the truth of our hearts and showing us the way we should walk. It gives the belt of truth great power to change us and make us more like Him.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Again Paul admonishes us to pray for one another. Pray for those who hurt you. The Lord pricked my heart just last night, encouraging me to pray for my co-works by name. It is coworkers that can lift one up, or tear one down. As one nurse truly said, we did not sign up for this! We did not sign up to fight a pandemic, witness death in such mass, see physicians throw up their hands in helplessness, send family members away due to risk of infection. We are a health care team and I must pray for my team. The Lord can change things, He is the giver of life, He can give us the skills to save lives instead of just drowning in death. We need Him every single hour we need Him.

So I speak to myself even as I encourage everyone who reads this blog to pray for those around you.

You are special to God. He made you uniquely you. Your weaknesses are God’s masterpiece. Don’t believe the lie that you are not good enough, in the wrong place at the wrong time, or failing.

“14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

Mordecai encourages Esther, his dearest cousin, with these words. Don’t stay silent, don’t stay helpless, and don’t stay powerless, for the Lord has placed you right where you are for such a time as this.
