I'm part of God's family!

I'm part of God's family!

How many of you still live in the very town or area you were born and raised in?

This is a gift for sure. My family has moved many times. Due to my husband’s work I still move quite a bit, about every five or so years. Just when we have it all settled, where to go to church, where to serve, friends, grocery store, for me tack stores as my horse always needs stuff, feed stores, clothing stores, coffee shops, jobs. But we up and move and it feels like there is a huge hole in your life every time you do it. You leave pieces of your heart with friends, family, co-works, and animals.

Then you come to a strange place, an unknown city, new coffee shops, new grocery stores, new tack shops, new churches, new jobs, new co-works and man! You feel like a foreigner, an outside. But, as time goes by, as things happen, as the Lord leads, suddenly one day you look up, you remember and wow! I actually feel like I belong here. I don’t feel like an outsider or stranger or outcast any more. I have my new friends, my new co-works, a church family, a place to worship, a place to serve, and we have each other, my husband and I.

Ephesians 2:19-22 “19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

So we get folded into God’s family, no longer out alone and cold and rejected, which is right where Satan would have us stay, but Jesus Christ swings open the door of His house, His home and says, “Come on in! I know who you are and this is where you belong!” This is what we are invited into! This is what the Lord is building, a living, breathing, expanding, mobile, exploring, conquering Church! And He does not need us to help Him with ANYTHING but He invites us to.
