We are the chosen ones
By God’s grace I was brought up in a Christian home. The reason I can say that I grew up in a Christian home is because I could wake up to see my dad praying, mum reading bible or a Christian song played loud on the stereo (for waking us up!). For me the concept of fun weekend is going to cottage meeting and hanging out with churchmates after the meeting ends. Memorable drives are the drives to church where all the kids take the backseat in the coaster van with all church members singing knowing faithfulness is our shield and rampart.
Once when I was talking to one of my friends, I got to know her concept of weekend was shopping, hanging out, partying etc, I was like “woah that sounds fun like actual fun”. Later in my life when I got a chance like that I realised that it ain’t as fun as I thought it would be. So, the dilemma started. Why can’t I enjoy it? Is it me? Am I that much of a buzzkill? I brainstormed myself with these questions.
All of my queries were answered by a message I heard that said “GOD chose YOU out of the millions and millions of people in this world to know his eternal love”. God chose me to know his love and I enjoy it more than anything in this world. Nothing in this world can top the happiness I get from his love, his fellowship, his church, his people, his presence and being with God.
I realised that other people think they have had the most fun but nah I am having the most fun and happiness. Cause I got to know my God my Saviour and is able to enjoy his presence more than anything that the world has to offer.
“We are the luckiest people in this world because we are loved by our Heavenly Father unconditionally”
